Rockstar Weekend....
Dude, I am TIRED. Thank god I have a holiday vacation coming up... (although, all my 'vacations' seem to be more exhausting than anything... haha)

So, I guess I have to start my "weekend update" on Thursday... Work, as usual, and then off to the Enter the Haggis concert (GBS and CL fans would enjoy this group. VERY high energy.). Having only seen ETH once before, because I got dragged to one of their concerts, and didn't know their music at all, I was psyched to be able to see them locally. Their fan base in VT is obviously not as well-established as their fan base in MA (I saw them @ The Iron Horse, before and it was PACKED.). But, this was actually a good thing for us - we were able to get right up front and stay there the whole show (right next to the crazy-fan 14 year old girl who was squealing and jumping up and down every other minute). Anyway, ETH was VERY good - as I had remembered. Their fiddle player was just as (Hot!) insanely good as I remember, and their bagpiper funny, Scottish and amazing. Just awesome. They have an infectious energy, much like GBS. You know, the kind of show where you just don't need to know the songs to have a good time - you can still jump up and down and go crazy clapping, etc. etc. Find them on MySpace peoples. You can sample their music there.
Anyway, since we were at Higher Ground (with two rooms of music), and our show got out earlier (snagged a poster! Yay!), I got the bouncers to let us into the other show - Zox. A good band on their own, another crazy-hot fiddle player, although they paled in comparison to ETH. Just a lot less charisma. Missing the "x factor".

Friday was another day as usual at work... but later in the evening I caught up with Dom and we headed to Gusto's for "food and just a COUPLE of drinks..." because we were going to head to this thing in Montpelier later in the evening. Yes. Well. Never thought I would say this, but I had a *good time* at Gusto's. (minus running into everyone I went to high school with and didn't like THEN)... we never actually left for Montpelier because we got so sucked in... The cover band, The Barrs (who have a website that I just can't seem to find at this juncture), was really REALLY good - playing old standards, but mixing it in with new stuff - such as my favorite - Buckcherry's "Crazy Bitch", Fuel, Nickelback... good stuff.
For the record, I would also like to note that I hold the top 2 scores in Gusto's virtual shuffleboard game, while Dom holds the top score for the sports trivia game. WaHA people.
We followed that up with a a trip to DrunkinDonuts... hahaha...

Saturday found me rolling off Dom's couch around 9:30am going, "SHIT. I was supposed to meet people in Richmond at 10am, to go shopping..." Damn. Well, so I called to meet up with my peeps later, and rolled home to eat something and drop into bed for another hour or so... Then, off to B-town to meet up with the ladies from work (Becky, Kim and Krista) for a bit of shopping and fun. Nice to have a day out with the ladies... I was EXHAUSTED, but AH well.

Back home around 630pm for a mini-nap and some dinner, and to get ready for Saturday Night's festivities. Yikes. I've determined that getting ready to go out is what kills the buzz for me, usually. The mirror upsets me. hahaah... Off to Dom's to meet up with the peeps (Holly, Tim, Dom, Silent Mike, Mini-me and Heather) to caravan to our booty-shakin' haven - Electra in West Leb., NH. Apparently, last night was "White Trash" night, and they were having a costume contest and everything... haha... very amusing. Not to mention, the DJ was KICK ASSS last night. Yay. Gotta love it when that happens.... We then caused our usual ruckus at Denny's (oh the perils of being an all night restaurant located in very close proximity to the bars), and headed home. I fell into my own bed sometime around 4am....

AHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... It was a good weekend. Lots to do and most of my favorite fabulous people to do it with... Still missing a few of my favs (where has KC fallen off to?), but it was a really good soul-refreshing weekend. It's funny how nice new friends can be, but they just don't have the chemistry and sparks (yet) that the long-time friends do.

I'm tired, but I feel good. HAPPY even. Yay for all my peeps. What would I do without all, y'all? hahaha

Alright. Gotta get my ass in gear and get to my Mommy's for around 4:30...

I am SO looking forward to this week... I have easy students on Mon. and Tues. and then three days off.... GOTTA love school vacations...... (and holidays, and roadtrips to concerts!!! coming up!! ee!!)
